A primary goal of the PGE Group is to increase the company’s value by satisfying customer demand for electricity and heat.

Our strategy has been built around four main lines of action, designed to ensure a growth of the Group’s value:
- domestic and foreign growth, which means development of a diversified portfolio of generating capacity by building new generating units generating energy from conventional fuels, renewable sources and nuclear energy. Therefore we have started preparations for the launch of a program of construction of nuclear power plants in Poland. Moreover our strategy aims at activities leading to construction and acquisition of generating units using renewable energy sources like wind farms, hydroelectric power plants, CHP plants using biomass, biofuels, biogas and co-combustion; investment in the development of distribution networks; acquisitions.
- development of an integrated business through implementation of an optimum management structure, centralization of selected functions and the reorganization of the capital structure;
- efficiency improvement – we would like to achieve that goal by implementing integration synergies, lowering of lignite mining costs, costs of generation and distribution of electric energy and heat generation as well as investments’ optimization;
- enhancement of competitive strengths and regulatory environment through setting up of competitive sales services and promotion of the building of a competitive electricity market.
The PGE Group’s strategy was initially adopted to address such issues as: the long-term increasing growth of demand for energy connected with the economic growh, the continuous liberalization of the market and the significant potential benefits arising from an increase of the efficiency of the PGE Group’s assets by implementing a proper management.
Our strategy is verified periodically due to changes in external conditions including, in particular, the EU environmental policy. However the main strategic goals of the PGE Group remain unchanged.
