From mining and production, to the sale and distribution of electricity, PGE is involved many stages of the supply of energy. PGE delivers energy to meet the needs for day-to-day safety and comfort of its customers.

PGE was established on 9 May 2007, when the Polish State Treasury made an in-kind contribution to Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A. of 85% of the shares of PGE Energia S.A. and BOT Górnictwo i Energetyka S.A. In return, the State Treasury took over newly issued shares in the increased share capital of PSE S.A. PGE is the youngest brand in the Polish power sector, but has already become one of the most recognised brands in Poland's energy industry.

The PGE Capital Group is made up of companies involved with the sale and distribution of electricity, as well as power plants and a mine. The Group employs over 40,000 people and is one of the country’s largest employers. Our capital and the unique know-how and experience of our entities have placed PGE in a leading position on the Polish energy market, with the goal of assuming the role of a leading player on the Central European market.
