PGE Management Board to discuss future of Poland's power engineering during Krynica Economic Forum

PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A., Poland's biggest generator and supplier of electricity, has become a partner of the 19th Economic Forum to be held in Krynica Zdrój from 9 to 12 September.

During the Forum, PGE will conduct a panel discussion entitled "Power Engineering Facing New Challenges Resulting from New EU Legislation". Representatives of the company's Management Board will participate in 5 panels discussing various issues concerning the power industry.
The Krynica Economic Forum is an exceptional event on a European scale. During this year's edition of the Forum as many as 16 discussion panels will be related to power engineering.

On 10 September PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna will hold a discussion on challenges that Poland's power engineering concerns will have to face in the light of new EU legislation. What should power companies do in order to adjust their strategies and organizational structures to EU requirements? How will the power industry ensure its financial liquidity and sources of financing for the planned biggest modernization processes to be carried out in many decades? What is Poland's optimum fuel mix, taking into consideration the environmental limitations and the fact that coal dominates decidedly as a fuel used in power generation?

These and many other issues will be discussed by:

  • Maciej Woźniak - the Prime Minister's Chief Advisor for Energy Security,
  • Wojciech Topolnicki – Vice President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A.
  • Philippe Castanet – President of the Management Board of EDF Polska Sp. z o.o.
  • Petr Ivánek – Member of the Management Board of CEZ Polska Sp. z o.o.
  • Dr. Bolesław Jankowski - Vice President of EnergSys
  • Wojciech Hann – partner in Deloitte responsible for the power industry in Central and Eastern Europe. 

 

PGE's panel will be moderated by Zygmunt Mozer - Director of the Research and Development Department in PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A.

On 9 September the members of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A. will participate in the following discussions:

European Countries' Partnership in the Development of the Region's Energy Security.
Private vs. State-owned: the Advantages and Disadvantages of State Ownership in the Economy.
The Future of Nuclear Power Engineering in Central Europe.

President Tomasz Zadroga will also participate in a discussion entitled, "Ensuring Financing for Necessary Investments in the Power Industry" to be held on 9 September during the Tarnów  Investment Forum, a sister event to the 19th Krynica Economic Forum.
