PGE Signs Agreement with Miners
6/9/2010

On 9 June 2010 the Management Board of PGE concluded an agreement with the trade unions of the Group's lignite mines - PGE KWB Bełchatów and PGE KWB Turów.

Under the agreement, the Social Partner accepted the PGE Capital Group's consolidation programme presented by the PGE Management Board.

The agreement guarantees the miners their rights and benefits acquired so far, but their scope will not be broadened and new employees will not be entitled to them. The signing of the agreement marks the end of a collective labour dispute in the PGE lignite mines.

Within the scope of the PGE Capital Group Consolidation Programme, employees participate in consultation concerning all areas of the Group's activities. Their objective is the achievement of agreement in all employee-related matters.

It is the first such agreement in the PGE Capital Group, but not the last one. The negotiations with the Social Partner representing the lignite miners were constructive, and the signed agreement shows that changes can be implemented successfully in an evolutionary - as opposed to revolutionary - manner. Following this trend, we should not have problems with building the largest power company in this part of Europe, stressed Tomasz Zadroga, Management Board President of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
